Step 1: Ensure a good incoming radiation Signal:

  • Fractional focal spot tube (smallest focal spot possible for sharpest image)
  • High resolution grid (178/200/215 LP/inch, more gridlines less scatter)
  • Bucky (Clean the incoming signal without software filtering)
  • Automatic Exposure Control (adjusted to always acquire the bare minimum panel radiation to avoid grainy images)
  • High Frequency Generator (constant potential)

Step 2: Choose software filters with care (the following will have a reduction effect on incoming resolution):
